# Set up a location

> One checklist to take a location from created to live, with links to the detailed guides.

Every location is set up on its own. Work through this list in order. Each step links to the detailed guide.

  The restaurant's owner or a location admin can do these steps, and so can you as an organization team member. Anyone doing them needs to be signed in to the location. Use the location switcher at the top of the sidebar to pick it.

  <Step title="Location profile">
    Confirm the location's name, address, phone number, and website. Maple can find the restaurant online and pre-fill
    these details, or you can enter them by hand. See [Complete your onboarding](/onboarding).

  <Step title="Business hours">
    Set the hours the restaurant is open. The agent uses them to answer questions and to decide when to take orders.

  <Step title="POS integration">
    Connect the restaurant's point of sale so orders reach the kitchen. Start with
    [Select the right integration path](/orders/pos/overview). If the restaurant has no supported POS, use
    [Manual setup](/orders/pos/manual-setup). Check the [prerequisites](/orders/prerequisites) first.

  <Step title="Payments">
    Set up how customers pay for orders. Payment setup belongs to the merchant's legal entity. See
    [Payment methods](/orders/config/payment-methods).

  <Step title="Phone number">
    Give the agent a phone number and set up SMS if needed. See [Getting a phone number](/voice-core/phone/getting-number),

  <Step title="Agent and voice">
    Create the AI phone agent, set its welcome message and handoff number, and choose its voice and languages. See

  <Step title="Menu">
    Review the menu the agent will use, and set menu hours. See [Menu management](/orders/config/menu-management).

  <Step title="Go live">
    Place a test order, then turn on call forwarding. Test orders print in the kitchen like real orders, so name them
    "Test". See [Going live](/going-live).

## Location settings

After setup, you can change a location's details at any time from its settings. Settings has these tabs:

| Tab | What it holds |

| **Location Details** | Name, phone number, contacts, and other basic details |
| **Business Hours** | Regular and special hours |
| **Bookings** | Booking settings for the location |
| **Plan** | The location's plan |
| **Integrations** | POS and other connected services |
| **Printer Setup** | Kitchen printers |
| **Delivery Settings** | Delivery options |
| **Users & Invites** | People with access to this location |
| **Audit Log** | A record of changes made to the location |
